Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and a focus on digital and software-driven projects? We have an exciting opportunity to work on a Nuclear Plant with a reputable energy partner. Join our dynamic engineering team and play a key role in leading and supporting critical electrical and I&C projects that uphold the highest standards of design, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Engineering: Develop detailed design packages for electrical and I&C projects, including digital controls and software evaluations.
- Conceptual Designs: Create conceptual designs and specifications for bidding purposes, assess alternatives, and provide technical support during implementation.
- Project Leadership: Serve as the Lead Technical or Responsible Engineer for assigned projects, and provide support to other project teams as needed.
- Collaboration: Coordinate design efforts with vendors, AEs, and designers, and conduct thorough design package reviews.
- Cyber Security Compliance: Ensure digital designs comply with cyber security regulations mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
- Qualifications: Obtain qualifications for a Modification Engineer and demonstrate the ability to work independently within our organization. Previous qualifications and product demonstrations from other utilities are acceptable.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of engineering experience in the nuclear industry
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility, including General Employee Training, Radiation Worker Training, Security Clearance checks, and compliance with the site's Fitness for Duty Program
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and preparing and presenting recommendations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimumn of 2 years experience in engineering in nuclear industry
- Professional Engineer registration/licensure
- Experience with digital hardware/software modifications
- Familiarity with nuclear plant operations
- Knowledge of digital upgrade-specific licensing requirements and current 10CFR73.54 Cyber Security Requirements
- Experience developing digital/software modification test plans
- Experience with 10CFR50.59 concerning design modifications for nuclear facilities
- University Degree in related field.
