Our prestigious international law firm client, renowned for its excellence in the legal field, is seeking an experienced Interim Assistant Managing Clerk. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the efficient operation of the Managing Attorney's office in New York City.
Job Title: Interim Assistant Managing Clerk
Location: New York City, NY
Position Type: Full time, Monday – Friday | 9:30 – 5:30
Three days in office | Two day remote
Salary: 35-50 an hour
Two months minimum, possibly until the end of the year (possibility of going perm)
Job Summary: The Interim Assistant Managing Clerk will be responsible for managing electronic court filings, serving legal documents, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations. This role requires extensive knowledge of court procedures and filing systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle time-sensitive tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electronic filing of court documents accurately and efficiently.
- Serve process, pleadings, and other legal documents, or arrange for service with vendors, and ensure proper filing in court according to firm and court procedures.
- Conduct research as assigned by the Managing Attorney and communicate findings clearly.
- Advise attorneys and legal assistants on electronic filing procedures and rules and provide timely updates on the status of electronic filing assignments.
- Interact with court employees to address issues related to court procedures and build professional relationships with court personnel.
- Clearly communicate with attorneys, legal assistants, and other stakeholders regarding court filings and service of documents.
- Handle and complete time-sensitive e-filings with pending deadlines promptly.
- Assist with other projects as directed by the Managing Attorney.
- 5+ years of prior experience in a Managing Attorney's or Managing Clerk's Office.
- Expertise in electronic filing systems, including CM/ECF for federal courts and NYSCEF for New York State courts.
- Proficient in using PACER, Pacer Pro, and other court docket retrieval systems.
- Strong understanding of court procedures, service requirements, and filing regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on client service.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others and maintain professional relationships.
