About the Job
Interim Controller
Our client, a growing company in the software industry, is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to help transition their accounting functions in-house from outsourced vendors
While this role is currently remote, the company has a developing presence in the Bay Area and is particularly interested in local talent or candidates who can work on Pacific Standard Time
The Interim Controller will play a critical role in preparing for a financial audit in the upcoming year.
Responsibilities
Transition accounting functions from outsourced vendors by developing robust procedures, policies, and initial controls.
Manage daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Oversee the timely preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Provide insights for executive management reporting, including board presentations and investor meetings.
Engage in ad-hoc projects to support the business as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA, CA, or equivalent preferred.
10+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong operational background in a start-up environment.
Experience with QuickBooks or similar small to mid-market accounting solutions, including implementations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
