Interim Controller
Position Title: Interim Controller
Location: On-Site (Woodstock, CT; occasional remote flexibility)
Duration: 6 – 12 months (likely closer to 12 months)

We are a leading manufacturing company currently undergoing a significant ERP conversion to SAP. To facilitate this transition, our current Controller is being pulled into the implementation project, and we need an experienced Interim Controller to backfill this critical position.

Position Details:
Top Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Controller Duties: Oversee and manage the financial operations of our Woodstock, CT plant.
- Budgeting/Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts to ensure financial stability and support strategic planning.
- Close Process: Handle month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial variances and guide the organization in implementing variance reduction strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Prepare month-end regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Data Support: Provide ongoing decision support related to work centers, costing analysis, and data integrity.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience as a Controller in a manufacturing setting.
- ERP Experience: Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- Hands-On Controller: Ability to manage day-to-day financial operations without direct reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare reconciliations, commentary, and journal entries for various transactions, including inventory adjustments and cycle counts.
- Support the review and understanding of data related to work centers, routers, costing roll-ups/analysis, and reporting.
- Monitor and coordinate outside processing activities and track consigned inventory.
- Reconcile and coordinate monthly actions on the open payables clearing account.
Note: This role is critical to our ongoing operations and we are looking to fill it as soon as possible, ideally within two weeks from the selection of the candidate.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
