The Engineering Intern evaluates manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.    

Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

• Essential duties and responsibilities should be listed in the order of importance/majority of time spent.      

• Update/Standardize bill of materials (BOMS)      

• Develop visual aids and work instructions for engineering and other functions, as assigned.       
• Assist quality by measuring manufactured parts, comparing accuracy to part drawings, and developing quality plans/procedures.      
• Assist in design/drawing creation for engineered products and system using 3D modeling software.   
• Assist with creation of a Value Stream Mapping (VSM) current vs. optimal.      
• Assist in product performance testing and analysis of failed products.      
• Adhering to all assembly safety standards.           
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.   

Required Qualifications:  

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering enrollment in good standing at an accredited University.      
• Advanced Excel skills, especially with formulas and data manipulation.    
• Strong, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.         
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.    

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Working knowledge of a 3D modeling software package; SolidWorks. 
• Familiarity in six sigma and lead methodologies.         
• Previous experience using calipers, micrometers, cmm, etc.

Positions in this function typically require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.   

• Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.  

• The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.  Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers’ facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.
