ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Financial Analyst Intern to join our dynamic team. This role is an exciting opportunity to delve into the financial services industry, providing insights and supporting strategic decisions through data analysis. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about transforming data into actionable intelligence. The successful candidate will work closely with our FP&A team to support various projects and initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO (in descending order of importance)
- Supports the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities.
- Conducts market research and analysis to provide insights on industry trends and competitor analysis.
- Helps in the preparation of presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the investment committee to evaluate investment opportunities and portfolio performance.
- Participates in special projects and performs ad-hoc analyses as required by the FP&A team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Currently pursuing or recently graduated with an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen attention to detail required.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, time value of money, capital budgeting, financial modeling and forecasting required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (match, index, vlookup, sumif, etc.) required; experience with programming (Visual Basic, R, Python, Stata, etc.) preferrable.
- Must have familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must have a strong service orientation in alignment with the credit union's mission and core values.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment required.
