Encompass Health and Piedmont are doing it again! This will be a 40-bed freestanding rehabilitation hospital in the beautiful community of Athens, Georgia. Excellent state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated staff make this an outstanding opportunity for an experienced PM&R Medical Director.
INTERNAL MEDICINE HOSPITALIST JOB DESCRIPTION HIGHLIGHTS
We are looking for a full time Internal Medicine Hospitalist Physician interested in building a rehabilitation practice and growing with the community. The hospitalist will round and consult on rehabilitation patients in the hospital and collaboratively work with PM&R and other supporting physicians. This opportunity has a great financial package available including generous income guarantee and full relocation. Encompass Health has a wonderful group of collegial physicians with plenty of specialty support from local acute care hospitals.
• Monday – Friday work schedule

WHERE YOU WILL PRACTICE – ATHENS GEORGIA
Just outside of Atlanta, the city of Athens offers lots to do both indoors and outdoors. The Georgia Museum of Art and the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library house compelling collections and exhibits on campus. And Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall offers a glimpse into the storied history of the University of Georgia Bulldogs athletics.
In town, the Lyndon House Arts Center offers exhibits, classes, open studio membership and volunteer opportunities, while the Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, a nonprofit art gallery, displays works from local artists, as well as national and international creators.
Outdoors, the North Oconee River Trail, part of the Oconee Rivers Greenway, is a multiuse path (8 miles paved, 3.1 miles of natural path). More than 3 miles of the Firefly Trail’s proposed 39-mile path are also located in Athens; both are attractive to dedicated hikers and weekend walkers. The State Botanical Garden of Georgia has a host of educational and hiking opportunities, and Sandy Creek Park, Sandy Creek Nature Center, Walker Park, and Memorial Park and Bear Hollow Zoo are outdoor havens just about everyone can enjoy.
QUALIFICATIONS
MD or DO with state medical license or willingness to obtain state license
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Patient-centered commitment to excellence
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Hospital-based experience preferred but not required
Interest in being a part of a thriving community
