What We Are Looking For:
This position will support Bandwidth's international operations by ensuring proper tax accounting and compliance with corporate income taxes, VAT, and other country specific taxes. The International Tax Accountant will collaborate with external third-party preparers of the company's corporate income taxes, VAT, and transfer pricing reports and will ensure that such returns and reports are filed timely and accurately. In addition, this position will regularly address queries from our foreign (outside U.S.) operations, tax authorities, and other departments regarding corporate income taxes, VAT, other taxes, transfer pricing, and statutory financial tax matters related to certain assigned countries with our international business enterprise.
What You'll Do:
- Review and ensure accuracy of corporate income tax returns of company's foreign operations as prepared by external service providers and assist in any required preparation and data-gathering for such compliance requirements.
- Review and ensure accuracy of transaction-related, including VAT, tax returns of company's foreign operations. Oversee preparation of VAT and other indirect tax filings as outsourced with third-party preparers.
- Arrange payments of corporate income taxes, VAT, and other indirect taxes in a timely manner for assigned foreign countries, including the reconciliation of all tax accounts in their respective ledger.
- Address corporate income tax, VAT, and other tax queries from tax authorities for assigned foreign tax jurisdictions.
- Assist Tax Management in providing all information requests, tax reconciliations, special tax projects involving assigned countries, internal control documentation, and dealing with corporate income tax, VAT, and other tax audits for our foreign operations.
- Compile supporting tax return, tax accounting and legal documentation to ensure that full audit trail is available for audit inspection on a timely basis.
- Provide corporate income tax, VAT, and other transaction tax advice to the company's operation teams and address any tax issues of foreign operations in the assigned countries to determine solutions that are in line with business needs.
- Monitor any specific country tax law changes, transfer pricing policy changes in the company impacting assigned countries and review transfer pricing documentation and calculations, working closely with transfer pricing team in the Tax department and third-party preparers.
- Review and prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate tax treatment.
- Review and process monthly tax vendor and quarterly transfer pricing invoices to ensure proper compliance with any country-specific invoicing directive and other requirements in assigned countries.
What You Need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Experience: 2-4 years of relevant corporate income tax, indirect tax, VAT, and transfer pricing experience with large multinational company and/or public accounting firm
- Knowledge: Prior experience with corporate income tax, VAT and/or other indirect, transactional tax compliance and payments, and transfer pricing.
- Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent technical research skills, proven ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment; ability to prioritize work appropriately and meet deadlines.
