ABOUT SUMMER 2024 INTERNSHIPS
The Kendo Brands Summer Internship is a paid 10 week Program focusing on an assigned project while being introduced to and fully integrated into the daily activities of your team. For Summer 2024, our program will be hybrid from our downtown San Francisco Office. Interns will work from home every Monday and Friday, and will come into the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Interns will get the opportunity to explore a department and learn about developing a career at a beauty brand incubator. Our program will include exposure to senior leadership, networking opportunities, and regular check ins on internship status. Interns will also get an opportunity to learn more about LVMH and how Kendo fits into the LVMH family.
Applications for the 2024 Internship Program will be open from February 8th to February 23rd. Salary for all internships will be $23/hour. Qualified Candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or 2024 graduates of an accredited college or university. You must be legally authorized to work in the US and able to work 3 days a week in our downtown San Francisco Office. Candidates must be able to work either June 3rd to August 16th or June 24th to September 6th.
SUMMARY
The Digital Design Intern for Kendo will assist in creating visually appealing and effective designs for a variety of digital platforms including brand websites, email campaigns and performance marketing. They will work closely with Digital Designers & Directors, Copywriters, E-commerce, Global Creative and Brand/Marketing teams to understand project objectives and drive innovation. In addition, they will have the opportunity to learn and grow while contributing to the development of creative assets that enhance our brand identity and engage our target audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Concept Development
- Research current design trends, social marketing, and competitor brands for future channel opportunities.
- Participates in creative brainstorms and shares ideas.
- Collaboratively work to create clear concepts that support 360 marketing.
- Mock-up creative ideas for share outs with cross-functional teams.
Storytelling
- Demonstrate communication and storytelling skills in a variety of settings.
- Flex presentation skills while sharing out work to stakeholders.
- Communicate rationale and design decisions to internal and external team members.
Design & Execution
- Support lead designer in execution of best-in-class, ROI-focused digital marketing for evergreen campaigns and promotions in all channels including site, email, SMS and performance marketing.
- Support brand communication strategy to design assets that improve the customer shopping experience and drive conversion.
- Assist in creating homepage and landing page mockups in Figma for responsive web experiences across desktop and mobile.
- Work on multiple projects concurrently and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines, ability to execute projects quickly and accurately.
- Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics, when necessary.
- Strong graphic design fundamentals (ex: typography, color theory, hierarchy, contrast, and grid/alignments)
Manage Brand Standards
- Maintain brand aesthetics and quality expectations across all mediums with careful attention to detail.
- Ensure all assets meet ADA compliance regulations prior to release.
- Monitor photo usage rights to ensure that expired imagery is removed from site/email.
- Ensure work is executed to brief while maintaining proper brand aesthetics and values.
REQUIREMENTS
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design (or similar)
- 0-1 years of experience as a Digital Designer (or similar) with a portfolio showcasing digital projects, a plus
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects, a plus
- Basic familiarity with Figma for site mockups; an understanding of UX/UI principles, a plus
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and flex the ability to present and articulate design concepts effectively
