About the Job
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for managing inventory control operations. Implements policies, objectives, and initiatives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Employs standards, metrics, and procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency.
- Ensure inventory is accurate in the areas of RTE, Raw, and Finished Goods by performing daily cycle counts and corrections.
- Perform quarterly inventory audits and assist with the Year-End Inventory Audit.
- Proactively communicate any inventory discrepancies or other concerns with the appropriate team members
- Foster effective working relationships with production, material handlers, planning & design, purchasing, warehouse management, accounting, and quality assurance
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and make corrections as needed.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
- Analyze inventory-related transactions such as (but not limited to) process order yields, delivery notes, material usage, Bill of Material quantities, and Weeks of Supply to identify opportunities to identify opportunities to optimize business practices
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities and develop best inventory management practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Accomplishes department results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hirings, evaluations, or promotions.
- Accomplishes work results; establishes priorities; monitors progress; resolves problems.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; and recommending action.
- Monitor staff hours, breaks and overtime.
Performance Indicators
- Successfully facilitate end-of-year audit with a similar or improved level of variance from the prior year.
- Reduce large inventory write offs, successfully avoid large write-offs of more than $5,000 for unknown reasons.
- Maintain inventory levels to ensure production efficiency and reduce waste: Successfully maintain a reliable level of inventory data with immaterial variances between system inventory and physical counts
Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- 2+ years experience in logistics, warehousing, or similar
- 3+ years in a supervisory or manager role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with employees and managers at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and write in the English language
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, and unit of measure conversions.
- Proficient in using Modern ERP systems, Business Objects, Redzone
- Proficient in using MS Office applications: Word and Excel
- Proficient in using Google suite
