POSITION SUMMARY
Ensures adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Develops and implements inventory control procedures. Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle counts. Trains and manages an inventory team. Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Bin management – set up new bins, verify all parameters are set properly for all bins in the system, review regularly
· Oversee and evaluate processes related to all inventory transactions, recommend & implement process improvements with the help of Ops and Purchasing Director
· Identify BOM issues found in production and submit to WW Codes for correction
· Oversee and analyze dock audit process, recommend & implement process improvements (Ops & Purchasing Director)
· Oversee special inventory projects such as year-end physical, DISCO material, running change management using FIFO, end of month clean up, etc.
· Review inventory transactions related to transfers, recommend changes, notify Purchasing Director or local sites to make necessary changes
· Woodware/WMS variances – identify variances and address as needed
· Ensure damaged inventory is recorded properly
· Maintain “abandoned specials” bin, work with purchasing/customer service to determine disposition
· Develops and implements inventory control procedures
· Trains and manages an inventory team, develop co-workers in their jobs.
· Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
· Set the example of following all safety guidelines and holding other employees accountable to them
· Partner with human resources to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
· Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in inventory control
EDUCATION:
Education:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience: 7-10 years in related position, Forklift/order picker certification a plus.
Computer Skills: Warehouse Management System, Handheld Scanners, Excel
