Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Management and Scheduling Specialist with five years of experience in inventory management and task scheduling. The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of DPAS and Microsoft Project, as well as strong proficiency in the MS Office suite. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure effective inventory control and task scheduling processes for all aspects of the unit's astronaut rescue mission. Mission equipment packages are located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, and Joint Base Charleston. This position may require approximately 25% travel to support these locations.

Responsibilities:
The contractor shall provide inventory management and scheduling support for all aspects of the unit mission. The list below contains many of the responsibilities but is not intended to be an all-inclusive list.
- Research and implement recurring inventory inspection schedules per applicable guidance and directives.
- Lead inventory inspections at home-station and at remote locations.
- Provide inventory inspection results to unit leadership, as appropriate.
- Develop, document and implement an inventory training program for unit personnel involved in day-to-day inventory management tasks.
- Oversee proper use of inventory tools, equipment, processes and procedures; provide recommendations for updates, as appropriate.
- Utilize approved inventory management tools including DPAS (Defense Property Accountability System), and other unit command approved solutions, to ensure the inventory is properly documented.
- Assist with inventory and supply management activities.
- Provide quantity and financial information for all items maintained in the unit inventory to assist with unit budgeting activities.
- Perform inspections on a random basis to ensure personnel are properly conducting inventory management processes and procedures.
- Assist with developing and publishing detailed schedules, per unit guidance.
- Develop, document and disseminate templates to ensure continuity of administrative and operational tasks.
- Schedule, coordinate, track and report on all unit-directed activities.
- Maintain and update schedules and calendars.
- Arrange and confirm meeting venues.
- Document scheduling processes and keep thorough records.
- Assist unit Records Management program.
- Travel to temporary duty locations as required.
- Conduct recurring inventory management training for personnel involved with day-to-day inventory management tasks.
- Assist the unit by providing classroom training, as requested.
- Assist with inventory tasks related to equipment usage during training, exercise or development test activities.
- Assist with inventory tasks related to equipment movement.
- Provide just-in-time inventory training, as requested.
Qualifications:
- Five years of previous experience in inventory management and scheduling tasks. Working knowledge of DPAS and Microsoft Project. A strong understanding of inventory management and scheduling processes and procedures. Strong knowledge of MS Office suite of applications. Strong organizational, communication and attention to detail skills
- A strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. This includes the ability to prepare and present briefings, papers, and presentations to senior leaders in the military and interagency. An ability to interact with military, contractors, and interagency personnel to build teams and maintain good working relationships.
- The ability to work independently to plan and complete assignments on time. The products are thorough, logical, meet objectives, and are grammatically correct.
- The ability to analyze complex problems and develop and articulate recommended plans and objectives that lead to resolution within existing policy or instruction guidance.
- The ability to understand and articulate orally and in writing the consequences (intended and unintended) in advance of actions or decisions.
- The ability to conceptualize, develop, and present mission-specific training or orientation courses for military personnel.
- The ability to produce high quality products and provide high quality recommendations that are consistent with a fiscally constrained mission environment.
