As an intern with First Business Bank, you will gain valuable work experience in a professional environment, leveraging your prior experience, education, and involvement. Our interns play an essential role in the departments they are part of, working on important responsibilities, special projects, and networking with our teams.
Important Information – Internship Length, Hours, & Schedule: This internship will start Summer 2025 and will run through the end of Spring semester 2026, with a minimum of 12 hours per week during the school year. Flexibility of working hours during the semester will be available. Applicant must be able to work from the Madison office onsite 4 days per week during the summer (flexible remote working is available during the school year).
Internship Purpose: This position will provide an opportunity to work closely with the Private Wealth team of a publicly traded commercial bank, including working with a team of portfolio managers, wealth advisors, and trust advisors.
- Produce monthly reporting materials, including asset list reports, composite performance calculation, and approved asset performance relative to benchmark
- Assist in conducting attribution analysis, detailing the performance impact of portfolio assets and investment decisions on discretionary portfolios
- Support research efforts by compiling and analyzing market data relating to macroeconomics, fundamentals, and valuation
- Assist in developing models to compare asset and sub-asset categories
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts, contributing thoughts, ideas, and insights derived from data analysis
- Support the investment team with project-related analysis and review
Work Model: Requirement for this position to be based out of our Madison office for the summer.
Requirements: Candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related field
- Strong technology proficiency (strong skills in Excel a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize work to meet various levels of deadlines
- Professional attitude with a high level of integrity and reliability
- Intellectual curiosity about the financial markets and global economic events
