About the Job
Ironworkers need to be physically strong, agile, and have a good sense of balance. They also need to be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions and work cooperatively with others.
Skills needed for the position:
Independent Contractor Status: Contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee of Company. Contractor is not entitled to any employee benefits, including but not limited to health insurance, retirement benefits, or paid time off.
Tools: Each worker must bring their own toolbox and personal tools: List will be provided post-offer letter.
Skills needed for the position:
- Reading blueprints: Ironworkers read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building codes to ensure they align and weld iron and steel correctly.
- Cutting and bending: Ironworkers use shears, torches, and other tools to cut and bend iron and steel.
- Welding: Ironworkers use welding equipment to join iron and steel together.
- Connecting: Ironworkers use bolts, wire, or welds to connect iron and steel.
- Erecting: Ironworkers erect metal beams and columns to form the structural skeleton of a building.
- Reinforcing: Ironworkers position and tie steel rods, bars, or mesh to support concrete.
- Safety: Ironworkers work at heights and use safety equipment like harnesses and safety nets. They also follow safety protocols and guidelines.
