Janitor - Friendship Community Care

Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm

Pay: $11.50

SUMMARY: Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the facility by caring out all duties associated with janitorial duties as outlined below:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Common Areas:

• Empty trash cans and take to the dumpster daily
• Sweep and mop daily: hallways, staff bathroom, office, reception area
• Clean windows no less than 3 times per week
• Clean and sanitize water fountain daily
• Clean and sanitize public bathroom(s)
• Sweep sidewalks off no less than weekly
• Sweep & mop offices twice weekly
• Remove debris from parking lot twice per week
• Dust lighting fixtures monthly

Classrooms/Therapy Areas:

• Sweep and mop each area, including bathrooms
• Vacuum Rugs
• Empty Trash Cans and take to the dumpster
• Clean & sanitize children's bathrooms (toilets, sinks, floors) replenish supplies
• Clean & sanitize children's sinks
• Maintains current certification in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control by attending annual courses and serves as First Responder for Preschool.
• Actively participates in weekly, monthly, and annual staff meetings as arranged by supervisor.
• Attends all training activities as required by Administration, licensing units, and/or supervisor.
• Participates in minimum 15 hours in-house and/or outside Early Childhood training annually as required, including out-of-town/overnight travel as required.
• Follows chain of command by reporting to immediate supervisor for all issues.
• Follows FCC Policy/Procedures manual and minimum licensing requirements for childcare centers at all times
• Complies with all DHS regulations contained within DHS Handbook.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and previous related experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & COMPLIANCE: To adhere to the following and comply with all Quality Assurance's & HIPAA procedures:

• The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed.
• Consumers' progress notes must be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.
• Consumers' records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers' records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
