We are looking for a hardworking individual with a positive, can-do attitude. The following position is currently available: Journeyman Administrative Assistant in Expo and Events. This is a hybrid position of On-Site and Off-Site work. This is an entry level position with a great opportunity for growth in an exciting field and company. The perfect fit will be a dynamic, creative and experienced event professional that is able to perform multiple duties relating to producing a variety of events. This position learns the installation and dismantle process of Expo & Events.
Administrative (8-10 Hours a week).
- Time Card adjustments.
- Assisting with scheduling for Journeymen.
- Travel with Journeymen for time card adjustments. Provide additional labor support.
- Additional support to JM Supervisor.
- Creating documents and processes to improve work flow.
- Working with Warehouse Manager and Warehouse team to improve workflow with Journeymen Team.
On-Site Work (30-32 Hours a week).
- Working with Production Supervisor, Associate Production Supervisor, Sr. Journeyman to ensure work flow for events.
- Additional Journeymen labor.
- Assisting with on-site time card adjustments.
- Ensuring all Journeymen use Lunch punch in/out with Punch Out Sheet.
- Address Journeymen issues on site with PS and with JM Supervisor.
Requirements
- Previously, being a Journeymen with all necessary on-site and off-site skills while meeting the Journeymen standard.
- The Journeyman Administrator position requires an Exceptional Standard per the Journeyman Evaluation sheet, being defined as meeting and going above the Journeymen standard.
- 80% or more proficiency in all required skills from the Journeymen Skills List (listed below).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Skills list
- Lead Work - Supporting, directing, and managing internal and external labor.
- Loading/Unloading - Box trucks, trailers and vans
- Layouts - Understanding layouts while properly marking and taping floors.
- Carpet - Laying aisle carpet, booth carpet and carpet padding. Properly kicking and taping down all carpet.
- Drape - Identifying drape. Assembling banjo 3' and 8'. Additionally, all specialty drape 12' and 16'.
- Tables - Vinyling and skirting tables to Modern Expo Standard. Safely stacking tables for transport.
- Electrical - Identifying Cord types and placing/taping cords for booths and miscellaneous show equipment.
- Custom Builds - Building various AGAM and BeMatrix Structures.
- Driving - Operating all Modern Expo Vehicles and Box Trucks.
- Delivery - Drop off/Pick up of any Modern Expo equipment or rented equipment.
(Additional Skills must include one or both)
- High Lift - Support and Operator for any necessary rigging on site.
- Fork Lift - Operator for any necessary on site tasks.
General Responsibilities

A Journeymen Administrator assistant must have clear communication and be cooperative with functional work relationships with other Modern Expo departments. This candidate will want to continuously improve workflow for the Journeymen Team and with other departments.
