About the Job
Main Purpose of the Role:
Provide technical assistance and desktop support. Monitor and maintain network and computer systems and troubleshooting where issues arise and resolve in the shortest possible timeframe.
Main Tasks:
- Ensure downtime is minimal when issue arises
- If issue arises, troubleshoot to identify if issue is internal or external
- Liaise with local services providers if it is an external issue
- Liaise with Help-desk by phone communication and by creating the necessary remedy to escalate the issue
- Install and configure computer hardware and printers on the local area network (LAN)
- Ensure that devices such as printers, UPS systems are maintained and are working properly
- Trouble shoot hardware and software problems, printing issue, escalate issues to Help-desk or technical support team.
- Organize and schedule maintenance for printers and UPS system
- Replacement of hardware parts as deemed necessary
- Ensure that IT procurement policy is followed for purchases
- Assist staff members with technical issues that may arise and provide desktop support
- Assist with creating remedies to escalate problems that cannot be resolved internally or locally
- Assist with any other duties assigned.
- Ensure that the software is update
- Generate a monthly report to HelpDesk Manager, or as requested.

Requirements:
• First Degree in Computing/Information Technology
• Two ( 2) years experience
• Very good command of English Language (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
• Fluent knowledge in Microsoft software environment (Windows platforms, Microsoft Office Suite)
• Knowledgeable in ZIM IT systems and communication
