Samaritan Recovery Community is a caring, long-standing nonprofit substance abuse treatment provider serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Located in the historic East Nashville area with spectacular views of the downtown skyline and Tennessee Titans Football stadium, Samaritan Recovery Community provides intensive residential treatment, transitional living, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. We provide treatment services to men and women regardless of their ability to pay.
We are looking for a Cook/Kitchen Staff to join our team, who has an excitement for and is passionate about helping people as they learn how to establish a lifestyle of recovery, free from substance use. If you want to make a difference in someone else's life, we want you to apply!
Our Kitchen Staff makes homemade meals, prepare food, operate a commercial dishwasher, oven, stove, and other kitchen equipment while keeping the kitchen, dining room and prep areas clean. Scheduled hours are Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with weekend availabiliy needed.
Requirements:
Prior experience in cooking, dishwashing and routine cleaning/janitorial work.
- High school or equivalency diploma
- Proven related experience cooking healthy meals.
- Ability to lift, bend, and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Cooking and cleaning are required
Assists in preparing and serving in accord with scheduled menus.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area at all times while on duty.
Perform kitchen cleanup, i.e., wash dishes, pots, pans, clean oven and all kitchen equipment and floors.
Prepare sack lunches as required.
Interact with program participants, fellow employees, and all others in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
