Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Pay: Competitive pay based on education and/or experience plus shift differential and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Position:
Testing Laboratory Technicans perform tests and equipment maintenance which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, with minimal supervision by the Testing Laboratory Director/Supervisor or Lead, in only those specialties or subspecialties in which they are qualified by education, training, and experience. Resolve problems as needed to ensure a safe blood supply and a reasonable testing turn around time. A Laboratory Technician I position is responsible for sample processing, test performance, equipment maintenance, and for reporting test results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or MLT from an accredited institution
- Written and verbal communication skills are required
Special Requirements:
- Must have full sight
- Hearing impairment requiring a hearing aid(s) is acceptable
- Must be fully ambulatory
- Lifting and carrying 50 pounds routinely
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow Testing Laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures for sample handling and processing, testing, reporting and maintaining records of test results.
- Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities, equipment and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
- Can identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems and immediately notify the testing laboratory management or Medical director.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- Perform all necessary maintenance on testing equipment and document on applicable maintenance forms.
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment, reagents, and controls
- Available for taking on-call for STAT testing and testing due to blood inventory issues.
- Locate specimens which require further testing and sort into the applicable Testing Department.
- Communicate all accessioning, sample processing, testing, equipment, and reagent issues to Supervisor/Lead Technician.
- Be available to work hours according to draw/clients and rotate weekends/holidays.
- Discard samples as required
- Inspect reagents and supplies that are received in the testing laboratory
- Label reagents and supplies with date received and status
- Store reagents and supplies in the appropriate location
- Perform additional duties as needed
