Job Summary
Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences (NERS) seeks applicants for one (1) open Intermittent Lecturer position for Winter 2025 term (January 1,2025 - April 30, 2025).
The Intermittent Lecturer position will be expected to teach NERS 551 Nuclear Reactor Kinetics. The expected percentage of effort for this position will be 30%.
Course Description:
Derivation and solution of point reactor kinetic equations. Concept of reactivity, inhour equations and reactor transfer function. Linear stability analysis of reactors. Reactivity feedback and nonlinear kinetics. Space-dependent reactor kinetics and xenon oscillations. Introduction to reactor noise analysis.

Responsibilities*
+ Teach NERS 551 Nuclear Reactor Kinetics in Winter 2025.
+ Evaluate, grade, and provide timely feedback on student work and projects
+ Hold regular office hours, virtually and in-person
Required Qualifications*
+ PhD in Nuclear Engineering and/or a combination of experience as an expert in the field of Nuclear Reactor Kinetics and/or High Temperature Gas cooled Reactors (HTGRs).
+ Relevant, high quality teaching experience with exemplary student evaluations, and/or the equivalent of teaching/training roles in industry
+ Extensive experience and knowledge of aspects of Nuclear Reactor Kinetics and/or High Temperature Gas cooled Reactors (HTGRs).
+ Must be capable of working independently and making effective presentations
+ Ability to interact effectively, respectfully, and diplomatically with individuals of all backgrounds and at all organizational levels, and to apply best practices in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
+ Experience teaching hybrid on-campus/online courses in academia or in industry

The mode of work for this position is ONSITE. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
