PrimaryFunction:To teach students the subject matter to give them knowledge and life skills related to their physical, mental, emotional and social development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Plans and prepares for teaching the subjects education programs and activities in accordance with the approved curriculum and outcomes.
- Teaches assigned courses to individual students and groups and assesses and reports student academic progress and social growth in accordance with established standards.
- Teaches utilizing knowledge of acceptable techniques and the capabilities of students.
- Uses a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media tools, materials and equipment and assesses the learning capabilities of students.
- Teaches and demonstrates proper use of educational equipment, tools and apparatus.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, nurturing, collaborative, engaging and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the student(s).
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains complete and accurate records as required.
- Communicates, collaborates, meets, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, administrators, students and parents to identify and meet student needs and to resolve problems.
- Maintains and assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct in classrooms, in all facilities, and during any school activity.
- Confers and meets regularly with both Directors, building administrators, department chairpersons and curriculum coaches on curricular needs within the building and to assess the need for training sessions, in-service programs or changes in existing programs
- Assists faculty with the development, implementation, and presentation of best practice(s) necessary to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles.
- Supports the district-wide technology plan and _tts integration with curriculum and instructional delivery.
- Reviews and recommends the purchases of programs, materials, and equipment.
- Promotes an organizational climate that results in positive staff morale and openness in the district.
- Maintains personal professional growth and development tlu·ough attendance at seminars and workshops ·
- Models instructional practice components consistent with The Frameworks of Teaching supervision model.
- May direct paraprofessionals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Pennsylvania Certification
Possesses knowledge of current instructional practices and assessment; excellent communication and human relation skills; strong organizational skills; possesses a multi-disciplinary perspective, and has a background in technologies use preferred.
