When you work as a Lab Maintenance Technician on the Metrology team at KCAS Bio, you get to further our mission by ensuring the equipment our Scientists use is always running efficiently.
The Metrology team uses their expertise to perform maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration and repair on support systems, and laboratory equipment.
This team works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature in which judgment is required to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.

In this role, we will rely on you to:
- Requests purchase of components and equipment.
- Performs repair and preventive maintenance on support systems and laboratory equipment.
- Maintains all logs and required documentation.
- Maintains calibration of assigned laboratory equipment.
- Disassembles and reassembles instruments and equipment to troubleshoot defects.
- Assist in the annual certification of all fume hoods, bio hoods, and balances.
- Contacts outside vendors for repair or calibration of refrigeration, test, and laboratory equipment, as assigned.
- May be asked to respond to environmental monitoring system alarms after hours and on weekends.
- Supports activities of the Operations Department, as assigned.
To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:
- Associate or bachelor's degree (scientific field preferred)
- 1 year of experience in a hospital, GMP and/or GLP facility (GLP preferred)
- 1 year of experience calibrating laboratory equipment preferred
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment, such as, balances and pipettes
