Job Description

This position is primarily a specimen processing for Pathology specimens in the laboratory.

This includes  Registration, Order entry and accessioning. Delivery of the accessioned specimen to the Pathology Assistant for grossing.  Packaging and tracking specimen transport to the Pathology Lab that will produce the slides for the pathologists and send back to the lab for assignment to the appropriate pathologist on site.   

Qualifications

Clinical lab experience and general knowledge of specimen requirements and clerical processes to register, perform accessioning/order entry and appropriate specimen handling.

Organized individual with great communication skills and a commitment to patient care.

Phlebotomy experience not required but encouraged for specimen collection and processing knowledge.
