THE OPPORTUNITY:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Labor & Employment Associate with 3-6 years of experience providing advice and counsel to employers and handling single-plaintiff, complex, collective, and/or class action litigation and proceedings on their behalf.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
As an associate in the Labor & Employment Department, you'll have the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
YOU HAVE:
- 3-6 years' high-caliber experience representing employers in various types of labor and employment matters
- Experience advising employers on traditional labor, restrictive covenants, wage and hour law, leaves and accommodations, and other general—but sophisticated—employment law topics
- Experience handling employment law litigation, with an emphasis on single-plaintiff, complex and/or class and collective action matters, with a preference for those who have handled court conferences, depositions, mediations, dispositive motions, and trials.
- Excellent writing and communication skills that allow you to advocate effectively with clients and on their behalf
- A desire to work hard for discerning clients and with exceptional colleagues, all of whom expect the very best from the lawyers on their team
- Intellectual curiosity and high emotional intelligence
- Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
- Stellar analytical skills and good judgment
- Experience providing recommendations and practical business solutions to clients
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus
- The ability to walk and chew gum at the same time, i.e., the skills to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Admission to the New York bar is required, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and/or Connecticut is a plus
The salary range for this role is $275,000 to $320,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
