About the Job
Responsibilities:
Laboratory Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, such as analytical instruments, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers.
- Coordinate equipment repairs and service with external vendors when necessary.
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and reagents, including ordering, receiving, and organizing inventory.
- Keep accurate records of stock levels and usage.
- Ensure that laboratory safety protocols and procedures are followed by all personnel.
- Conduct safety inspections, maintain safety data sheets (SDS), and participate in safety training programs.
- Prepare laboratory materials, solutions, and reagents as required for experiments and research projects.
- Assist researchers and scientists in setting up experiments and data collection.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of equipment maintenance, inventory, and safety procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation related to laboratory operations.
- Properly dispose of hazardous waste and ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations and guidelines.
- Provide guidance and training to junior laboratory staff on equipment usage and laboratory best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Proven experience in laboratory operations and equipment maintenance.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory software.
