The Lab Technician performs laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to ensure compliance with quality and purity specifications. This role involves collecting sample retains and communicating with various departments through email and Microsoft Teams.
Essential Job Functions:
- Follow all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Enforce and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
- Monitor compliance with safety, food safety, and GMP standards.
- Perform lab tests in accordance with documented procedures.
- Uphold the company's core values: Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Resourcefulness, Teamwork, and Responsibility.
- Exhibit prompt attendance and adhere to the assigned work schedule.
- Work independently while being a team player, maintaining good communication, and handling tasks such as sampling and testing.
- Conduct physical testing of production samples.
- Verify lab instruments daily.
- Record, interpret, and input test results into a computerized system.
- Retain tested product samples for verification, if necessary.
- Maintain adequate testing supplies and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
- Compare test results with standards to ensure product compliance.
- Safely handle various chemicals in accordance with manufacturer safety data sheets.
- Communicate with Operations, Merchandisers, and Quality teams regarding any product issues.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Applied Science preferred.
- Analytical laboratory experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Proficient in basic arithmetic and clear writing.
- Strong communication skills for professional interaction with colleagues.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn and actively participate in training.
- Regular and prompt attendance is mandatory.
- Adherence to personal hygiene standards.
- Basic computer operation skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote) and instrument-specific software.
- Commitment to a zero-injury culture and adherence to company safety procedures.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, from heights, and with hazardous chemicals.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
