What You Will Be Doing
As the Law Office Assistant 3 for the Bethel District Attorney’s Office, you will play a critical role in the process of prosecuting violations of criminal law.
In this position you will provide advanced level administrative support to attorneys, process legal documents, perform data entry, provide office management, supervise support staff, and perform administrative functions, such as processing financial paperwork, performing human resource needs, making travel arrangements, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with various individuals and outside agencies to accomplish tasks.

You can expect a 40 hour work week; 11 paid holidays; personal leave accrual starting at 6 hours per pay period (about 21 days annually) and increasing with years of service. The general office hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM but there is flexibility in establishing your regular hours around core business hours.

To be successful in this position a candidate will need the following core competencies:
- Knowledge and skill in grammar, composition, spelling, and punctuation, as well as proofreading and editing documents.
- Knowledge and skill in using computer equipment and applications.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and forms, judicial system rules, procedures, and requirements.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentially of privileged communications and information, and to comply with privacy laws and regulations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize a high-volume workload to meet time-critical deadlines, stay focused on numerous details, maintain a high level of accuracy, independently research the answers to a variety of procedural questions, anticipate problems and find creative solutions, and follow through to complete actions.
- Ability to effectively interact with and assist people who are under stress while remaining calm and professional.
