An AutoCAD drafter uses computer-aided design (CAD)
software to create technical drawings and models for a variety of projects:
Building design: Create building blueprints, plans, and designs for construction teams, architects, and engineers
Manufacturing: Create schematics and designs for products and machinery
Engineering: Create technical drawings for bridges, aircraft, and other engineering projects

Discuss designs with engineers, architects, and construction leads
Edit designs created by other drafters
Adapt designs for construction projects
Create electrical plans
Write technical documents like cost estimates and material lists
