Lead Engineer - Maintenance - Cloverland Dairy

Cloverland Farms Dairy in Baltimore MD is seeking a Lead Engineer in Maintenance.  Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Lead Engineer is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of the UHT / ESL equipment.   

Pay Rate: Starting at $33/hr

Work Schedule: Day Shift.  Must be able to work weekends and off-hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install and test new equipment and/or parts and start-up machines, ensuring proper operation.
• Trouble shoot issues by reading electrical prints, PLC code, and error codes on the machines.
• Train other mechanics on the operation of the equipment
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting via phone when issues arise off-hours. 
• Order and maintain inventory of parts needed for repairs.
• Create and maintain service records and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Perform PMs on equipment which include box formers, robotic palletizers, homogenizer, pumps, air valves, and fillers. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Electrician license or boiler license a plus
• Proficiency in programming PLC’s
• Ability to install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment
• Must have excellent oral and written communication, as well as training skills
• Ability to read, understand and electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
• Ability to work under pressure experienced during machine downtime
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Wet and slippery floor conditions.
• Must be able to stand and walk during the entire shift.
• Constant bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, and climbing ladders during an eight (8) or ten (10) hour shift.
