The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Breast Imaging. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The successful candidate must be American Board of Radiology certified or board eligible.
Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision and teaching of residents and fellows during procedures and conferences and participating in interdisciplinary conferences with clinical subspecialties. The teaching of medical students will be limited to those rotating through the Department of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In addition, the candidate will prepare learning materials and lectures, teaching posters, and presentations for national review.
Clinical responsibilities may include screening and diagnostic Mammography, breast Ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided biopsies using all of those modalities.
At the CMC VAMC, the incumbent would be appointed as the Lead Interpreting Physician (LIP) of Breast Imaging and oversee the clinical and administrative aspects of that breast imaging program. The incumbent would split their time equally between the institutions. The successful candidate will be a citizen of the United States and pass a routine background check for Federal employment.
