About the Job
1. Develop and implement effective shipping and logistics strategies to meet customer service objectives and company goals.
2. Coordinate and manage the shipment of products from suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation, packaging, and labeling.
3. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and accurate delivery.
4. Monitor and track shipment activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders and resolving any issues that may arise.
5. Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and availability of products for shipment.
6. Evaluate and select transportation carriers based on cost, reliability, and service level agreements.
7. Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to optimize transportation costs.
8. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and international trade requirements.
9. Implement and maintain efficient shipping and logistics processes, including automation and use of technology.
10. Resolve any shipping discrepancies, such as damaged or lost shipments, and work with carriers and suppliers to resolve claims.
11. Review and analyze shipping data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
12. Train and supervise shipping staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.

9. Understanding of transportation and logistics concepts, including carrier selection, routes, and cost optimization.
10. Good knowledge of shipping and packaging techniques to ensure product safety during transit.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in shipping and logistics management, preferably in a supervisory role.
3. Knowledge of relevant shipping regulations and documentation (e.g., Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Customs declarations).
4. Familiarity with international trade compliance, including import/export regulations and trade restrictions.
5. Experience in using shipping software and warehouse management systems.
6. Strong understanding of transportation modes, including trucking, air freight, ocean freight, and courier services.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate contracts with transportation carriers.
8. Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement is a plus.
9. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced shipping environment.
