Lead Mechanic - Garage Shop Manager - Wealthy Recruiting

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Mechanic to oversee the day-to-day operations of our garage shop in Goshen, NY. This role involves managing a team of mechanics, ensuring efficient workflow, overseeing parts inventory, and maintaining quality control for all equipment and trucks serviced. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to coordinate multiple teams for smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management: Supervise, train, and manage a team of mechanics, ensuring all work meets high standards and is completed efficiently.
• Quality Control: Inspect and sign off on all equipment and trucks before they leave the shop to ensure repairs and maintenance are thorough and complete.
• Parts Management: Order parts as needed, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely procurement of materials to prevent delays in servicing.
• Client Communication: Provide timely and professional updates on repair status and respond to client inquiries regarding equipment issues.
• Scheduling & Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the service team to schedule repairs, both outbound and onsite.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team for equipment delivery and return.
• Billing: Ensure accurate billing for all services, maintaining precise records of repairs, labor, and parts used.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Lead Mechanic or Shop Manager.
• Strong knowledge of truck and equipment repair.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Skilled in managing multiple tasks and coordinating across various teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communicator for client and team interactions.

Preferred

• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Knowledge of parts inventory management software.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently.

Experience

• Equipment Repair: 3 years (Required)
