As the Lead Test Cell Mechanic you will be responsible for overseeing test assignments, maintaining test cells, and performing engine repairs. Work with the latest technologies and techniques in the aviation industry. This role includes providing technical guidance, training, and coaching to Test Cell Technicians and acting as the Test Cell Crew Chief in the absence of senior staff.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as calibration, are conducted to mitigate risks associated with inoperative test cells.
- Support and perform troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Manage and track test cell utilization and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and instruction to technicians on proper procedures and techniques.
- Oversee engine staging, testing, de-staging, and shipping preparation.
- Train to become a certified test cell operator, performing full certification testing according to OEM procedures for all site authorized engine models.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for engine and test cell failures, including component replacement.
- Adhere to safety requirements and report unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
- Work within quality, environmental, and safety management systems to ensure high-quality and responsible operations.
- Collaborate with engineering, CPMs, and operations to discuss test performance outcomes.
- Consult manufacturer’s manuals for testing and maintenance procedures related to measurement and control instruments.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in test cell processes and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a test cell environment.
- Strong skills in planning, organization, analysis, communication (both oral and written), and decision-making.
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Flexibility to work day shifts, second shifts, and weekends as required.
- Must be authorized to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of Honeywell HTF, TFE and 36 Series APU engines
- Working knowledge of MEDRA, Symphony Viewer, Wonderware software systems
