About the Job
The Secondary Area Lead is responsible for a successful startup of lines, verifying the processing plan and ensuring the efficient day-to-day production in a plastic manufacturing facility. Lead is to keep operations running safely, efficiently, and effectively, with a minimum amount of down time in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The Lead is to ensure compliance with Absolute safety, quality, processing, and packaging requirements while directing activities of employees assigned to their production lines. The Lead will also be responsible for the results of their shift and is tasked with meeting all KPI’s and goals in safety, quality, processing, and packaging standards.
- Must be able to setup, troubleshoot, operate and be familiar with all types of auxiliary equipment used in the facility.
- Responsible to set up and establish parameters for auxiliary equipment at work centers according to work orders and production schedule. Troubleshoot and make adjusts of auxiliary equipment to maintain quality requirements.
- Monitoring and tracking of work order requirements as well as verifying job work instructions, cosmetic criteria, and specific job-related documentation present at work centers.
- Assigns operators to designated work centers. Train operators and material handler on operating machines, auxiliary equipment, job work instructions, cosmetic criteria, and specific job-related documentation present at work centers.
- Trains operators and material handler in regard to inspection of the product, example: flash, contamination, short, warp, blush, sink, burning, blisters, oils, drag lines, high gates, pulling, distortion, poor welds, hopping, glossy finish, color variation, etc…
- Reports any mechanical machine malfunctions to production supervisor and writes work order for repair to ensure machine is functioning within specified parameters.
- Implement lean methodology and ensures cycle times are monitored and achieved utilizing time study methods and production real time monitoring. Perform BOM audits and submit updates.
- Make routine checks to verify quality standards are being met and maintained. Report part defects to Production Supervisor and/or Quality Manager to ensure product quality.
- Be able to train, track, and disposition inventory in the IQMS system.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Responsible for maintaining auxiliary equipment clean and safe working conditions.
- Performs 5S implementation is to create a clean, organized, and safe workplace to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Have general knowledge of clean room procedures and train operators to maintain clean room standards.
- Communicate instructions from shift to shift.
- Works as a team player to ensure the success of the shift.
