Position Overview:
The Lead Pharmacy IV Technician will serve in a supervisory role, and responsible for day-to-day supervision of Sterile Compounding. The role will ensure all USP 797/800 process are followed, provide staff scheduling to ensure shift coverage, endure the sterile compounding orders are completed accurately and timely, and research and resolve escalated business service issues; maintaining high service levels for the pharmacy operations and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scheduling to support IV operational hours and ensure complete staff coverage across multiple shifts
- Manages day to day work through utilization of dashboard and collaboration with other pharmacy staff
- Complete understanding of USP 797 and USP 800 and ensure the IV department is following explicitly
- Keep the department audit ready at all times
- Excellent skills with FrameworkLTC, Point Click Care, MatrixCare and other business applications as needed
- Generates standard reports for the functional area and tracks all employee performance for high volume transaction area
- Oversees day to day employee performance
- Provides functional advice and training to team members as needed
- Effectively collaborates with all internal and external business partners
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- PTCB National Certification
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry (although not required)
- Demonstrates core competencies of USP 797, leadership, planning and execution, solution oriented, strong communication skills, collaborative business partner
- Able to operative Outlook/Excel/Word and able to effectively analyze data
- Perform multiple tasks effectively
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Able to lead a team
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
