What You'll Do:
As the Lead Reliability Trainer, you'll be the cornerstone of our training initiatives, steering the development and delivery of top-notch training programs for BES operators. Your mission will be to ensure our operators are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to excel in real-time operations. Here's a glimpse into your exciting responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Innovate and Inspire: Design and implement training curricula that align with NERC credentialing requirements, industry best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Mentor and Motivate: Lead, mentor, and support your team to achieve both corporate and individual goals, ensuring a high-performance culture.
Process and Program Analysis:
- Strategic Vision: Develop and execute strategies for NERC credential maintenance training, adapting to regulatory changes and industry trends.
- Collaborate and Improve: Work with stakeholder leaders to address performance gaps and enhance training programs through data-driven insights.
Training Process Facilitation:
- Expert Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert in real-time operations and the intricate interplay between reliability and energy markets.
- Effective Training: Oversee onboarding processes, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinate with various teams to maintain top-notch training content.
Design and Delivery:
- Innovative Learning: Craft engaging learning experiences, including scenario-based, problem-centered, and eLearning modules.
- Dynamic Delivery: Facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions that captivate and educate participants on complex concepts.
Measurement and Improvement:
- Drive Success: Monitor training effectiveness through metrics, and lead the design of assessment tools to ensure continuous improvement.
- Data-Driven: Utilize assessment software to generate performance reports and refine training processes for maximum impact.

To be successful as the Lead Reliability Trainer, we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical, business-related or education/training-related field or equivalent experience may be considered
- Ten (10) years of job related experience in electric utility industry, training and/or performance support experience with at least Three (3) years of leadership experience
- Five (5) years of work experience in grid operations/control room/desk operation.
- In-depth knowledge of the operations of the Bulk Electric System.
- Deep understanding of the systematic approach to training, performance support and job tasks analysis and assessment.
- Working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Criteria, SPP Market Protocols, and FERC regulatory orders of regional significance to SPP is strongly desired.
- Good organizational skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities.
- Use of sophisticated analytical electronic tools specific to operations, transmission and/or generation
- Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, a large volume of work, and stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Evidence of self-initiative, self-direction, motivation, as well as critical and creative thinking skills
Certifications or Licensure:
- NERC Operator Certification
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in a business-related or education/training-related field
- Training experience within the electric utility industry
- Three (3), plus years of project management experience
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Location:
This is a hybrid (2-3 days in office) position located in Little Rock, Arkansas, with the possibility of remote work being approved for senior-level applicants initially living outside of a 50-mile radius.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.
Travel Requirement:
This position requires moderate travel (approximately 20-30%).
