Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to work as the primary engineering representative and liaison at a nuclear power plant. This role involves engineering management, field coordination, and oversight of project activities to ensure successful execution of nuclear power plant projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering leadership skills and significant nuclear industry experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Liaison: Act as the primary representative for Project Engineering Management, serving as a field liaison between the client and engineering group to ensure effective communication and project execution.
Engineering Management & Supervision: Provide engineering guidance to subordinate staff, enforce company and project policies, and serve as a client interface to ensure project success.
Project Planning & Execution: Plan and manage work activities to meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements. Demonstrate project leadership and proactively address potential issues.
Task Delegation: Supervise and delegate tasks among staff, monitor day-to-day activities, and resolve project problems or seize opportunities by analyzing issues and developing solutions.
Resource Coordination: Incorporate the resources and capabilities of other groups into project organization, as needed.
Scope Management: Ensure a clear understanding of project scope, work requirements, and contract compliance.
Status Reporting: Support or conduct formal project status reporting and presentations for clients and management.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university, with coursework in energy conversion and power systems.
Licensing:
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in any state, with the ability to gain licensure in other states by comity.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in any state, with the ability to gain licensure in other states by comity.
Experience:
- Proven experience working in a U.S.-based nuclear power plant.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access at a nuclear power plant.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a project team environment.
- Proven experience working in a U.S.-based nuclear power plant.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline with a focus on power.
- Field experience with walk-downs on power projects.
- Background in Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering.
- Experience with engineering design modification packages for nuclear power plants.

Experience with Boiler Systems: Candidates must have hands-on experience with boiler maintenance and repair, including specific knowledge of safety protocols, routine maintenance, and repair activities. Team Management Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role, overseeing maintenance technicians across disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repair.
