Job Title: Lead Systems Platform Engineer

Type: 2 years contract on W2

Role Overview:

Seeking a Lead Systems Platform Engineer responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, security, and support of large multi-site, multi-vendor network communication environments.

Note: Only qualified candidates located near the New York City, NY area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Formal business or management training, including Project Management, Strategic Planning, some finance experience, and related curriculum.

Knowledge / Experience:

• Five to eight years of overall IT experience in the following areas:

  • Networking, including LAN/WAN, Firewalls, wireless, Security, and encryption technologies.

• Experience with TCP/IP protocol communications.

• Knowledge of Cisco's and Arista's product portfolio.

• Firewall experience: Checkpoint and Palo Alto.

• Load Balancer experience: F5 or Citrix Netscaler.

• SASE experience: Prisma Access or Netscaler.

• Cloud experience: AWS or Azure.

• Advanced knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.

• Knowledge of Network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS technologies.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Self-starter with demonstrated listening skills.

Job Description:

• Manage network projects.

• Develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing corporate and client networks, as well as re-architecting network segments to facilitate new requirements, technologies, and growth.

• Resolve network communications and operations problems impacting customer or backbone access and performance globally.

• Participate in telecommunications-related initiatives.

• Research and develop innovative solutions around unified network solutions.

• Support assigned regional projects, including responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation.

• Support vendor management.

• Provide strategic technical direction on highly complex network systems projects or activities involving the selection and recommendation of design approach and systems software technology.
