About the Opportunity:The Learning Technology Administrator will be an integral member of the IT team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help solve multidimensional information and instructional technology problems, improve the content delivery experience, and generate value for our campus stakeholders across a broad base of departments and constituencies.
The successful candidate will be primarily charged with focusing on supporting day-to-day activities with the university's learning management system. In addition, the Learning Technology Administrator will perform tests and pilots of viable technologies and assist with crafting documentation to move from the plan/build to run and complete the integration in production once approved.
Where you will make an impact
- Institutional Technical Support for LMS. Learning Technology Administrator shall provide Client the following support services in connection with Client’s LMS:
- Resolve end-user technical concerns.
- Provide in-person, online, and telephone technical support to faculty teaching online, hybrid and face-to-face courses supported by the Virtual Campus.
- Consult and assist other Client teams within Client’s information technology (IT) department.
- Maintain procedures and policies to ensure the security and integrity of Client systems/networks.
- Coordinate computer upgrade and maintenance schedules with Client’s IT department.
- Clone and create courses as needed.
- Uphold accessibility standards in software implementation.
- Manage batch creation of courses in LMS.
- Manage individual and batch user enrollments.
- Manage user rights assignment to maintain proper system security.
- Direct and coordinate Client inter-departmental initiatives relevant to end-user training initiatives and e-learning support.
- Organizational Development. Learning Technology Administrator shall provide Client the following support services in connection with Client’s LMS:
- Document all support and maintenance performed.
- Propose, manage, and enforce LMS standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for instructional technology support.
- Provide knowledge transfer of BrightSpace (by Desire2Learn) skills for redundant and future support.
- Disseminate technology-related policies to Client’s academic departments through the established governance committees.
- Tasks relate to the day-to-day functioning of the LMS and all related third-party learning software and tools, including integrations.
- Learning Technology Administrator shall provide Client the following support services in connection with Client’s LMS:
- Manage daily operation of hosted instance of LMS.
- Deploy and maintain third-party integrations.
- Plan, test, and implement LMS updates and third-party supporting products.
- Serve as escalation contact for LMS and supporting vendors.
- Consult in LMS products, functionality, development, methodology, and application.
- Collaborate, actively assist, and consult the Client team during any LMS dysfunction, to plan and manage resolutions in live courses.
- Ensure ADA compliance in software implementation.
What you will bring
- Experience in Educational Technology, Instructional design, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in Educational or Informational Technology or Online Learning.
- Experience administrating and teaching with the LMS (BrightSpace/Colleague preferred).
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs for a broad range of IT and business professionals, along with instructional design experience and knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Proficiency in LMS and other learning technologies.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to inspire and influence team members and others to implement positive changes.
- Committed to customer satisfaction: exceptional skills in collaboration, consultation, communication, customer support, data analysis, and time management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Jenzabar.
- Experience with Banner/Colleague.
- Experience with BrightSpace/D2L.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
