The ideal candidate must have at least three years' experience preparing discovery responses/pleadings and motions and legal assistant responsibilities. Must have excellent organizational, communication, writing, research skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:- Odyssey efiling;
- Pacer/Pacer efiling;
- Independently docket dates, deadlines & reminders;
- Knowledge of court procedures – Cook County & outlying counties;
- Able to work from Chicago office on designated days;
- Prioritize work independently;
- Finalize documents & correspondence;
- Serve subpoenas & track progress;
- Issue discovery & manage incoming discovery disclosures & requests;
- Place summonses for service w/ Sheriff & SPS & track progress;
- Independently draft appropriate notices – Certificates of Service, Notices of Motion, Notices of Deposition, etc;
- Able to work independently & handle many moving parts;
- Able to take direction & learn our systems/practices.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' legal experience
- Candidates must have experience in preparing and serving documents
- Candidates will be required to enter and bill their time
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook as well as other Microsoft Office applications including Word, Adobe PDF creation and searches
- Familiarity with and prior use of Aderant Total Office (ATO), knowledge of Aderant Expert is a plus
