Legal Assistant
Our client is a prestigious law firm with a strong presence in Sacramento, known for providing top-tier legal services. The firm is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to a collaborative legal environment and support attorneys in delivering exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and maintaining calendars.
- Prepare and format legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials.
- File documents with courts and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
- Assist with case management by organizing files, tracking case progress, and maintaining client records.
- Conduct basic legal research and compile information relevant to cases.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals on behalf of attorneys.
- Manage billing and invoicing tasks, including tracking attorney time and client expenses.
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and preparing trial binders.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in civil litigation or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software.
- Familiarity with California court procedures and e-filing systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
