The Lending Team Manager is responsible for planning and managing activities across multiple regions for the commercial and consumer lending and development functions to accomplish profit, growth, referral, quality, and service objectives. Working with the Chief Banking Officer, this role is responsible for planning and performing the following functions: business development, customer retention, credit and service quality, and human resource management. The Lending Team Manager will helps create strategies for the expansion and retention of our customer base and the development of new customer relationships.

Essential Functions
- Oversees and manages commercial, agricultural and consumer lending and development teams serving business customers.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, acting as both a team leader and collaborator in a professional team setting.
- Develops and executes consistent processes to ensure retention of customers, expansion of customer relationships and growth in new customers
- Establishes customer contact and calling goals, sales, and customer retention objectives to meet the group's financial goals
- Manages lending/banking relationships of a reduced and defined client portfolio
- Actively lead and manage the sales teams to include defining expectations, inspecting pipelining activities and participating in calling activities with the team as necessary
- Ensure a high standard of credit quality through the process of credit submission and portfolio maintenance, and oversight of portfolio management practices including mitigation of delinquencies and loan losses
- Partner with Loan Administration and Credit to ensure efficient and effective business underwriting and portfolio management processes
- Make recommendations and/or implement changes when applicable to meet the Bank's credit quality objectives.
- Maintain productive working relationships with VSLs and line of business partners to; encourage inclusion of sales partners into client relationships to manage the total financial services relationship for clients and prospects
- Assist Chief Banking Officer in holding staff accountable to operate within budget
- Provides pertinent reports to Chief Banking Officer on a regular basis, i.e.: pipeline reports, Board slides, etc.
- Obtains and evaluates general and specific business conditions and keeps senior management advised on critical issues
- Develops short- and long-range plans for product, credit and market coverage accordingly and monitors progress
- Assumes responsibility for carrying out and ensuring operations are in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and bank policies and procedures, securing professional counsel when necessary.
- Ensures work completed is accurate and appropriate. Verifies and validates all data to confirm accuracy and reliability. Paying close attention to details of all information received and entered.
- Provides short-term coverage for team members due to extended absence or pipeline overflow, if necessary
- Participates in internal Bank meetings and committees, i.e.: ALCO, Lending Leadership, etc.

- Typically has broader practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization's business practices
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Business Admin or related degree required.
- 8 years of commercial, business or consumer banking relationship management and lending experience, with direct line accountability exposure to all products, credit and non-credit required
- 4 years leading teams of business, commercial or consumer bankers required
