Job Description:
The Department of Clinical and Health Psychology (CHP) at the University of Florida is seeking applicants for up to three Licensed Mental Health Counselor positions. Potential specializations for these positions include sleep disorders and chronic pain, pediatrics and adolescents, or neuropsychology.
These positions are responsible for providing a range of moderately complex clinical services and case management in an outpatient clinic, which is under the general oversight of the department's clinic director. Positions predominately provide service to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Duties:
+ Provide individual therapy for a range of mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, eating disorders, sleep disorders, social anxiety disorder, chronic pain, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and/or substance abuse.
+ Facilitate group therapy sessions addressing various mental health and interpersonal issues.
+ Conduct client intake evaluations, including reviewing relevant records. Conduct and/or interpret comprehensive, strength-based, and behavior-focused assessments to determine appropriate therapy options.
+ Promptly document session outcomes and other required information, as mandated by policy, regulations, and contracts.
+ Engage in treatment planning and consult with external agencies as appropriate, including school officials, parents or guardians, placing agencies, referral sources, and other relevant parties affecting the provision of the client’s services. Comply with applicable policy, regulations, and best practice standards.
Expected Salary:
$60,000 - $65,000 commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's or Doctoral degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or related field.
All State of Florida requirements met for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), with two years post-degree supervised experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing treatment to individuals, families, and/or groups.
Experience with a variety of general mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, eating disorders, sleep disorders, social anxiety disorder, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and/or substance abuse.
Experience and/or interest working with individuals with chronic pain, sleep concerns and self-harming behaviors is preferred.
Experience with documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and writing for a medical audience is desirable.
Within scope of job, requires effective critical thinking and organizational skills, professional judgement, time management, consultation skills, the ability to work within a group practice, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
