Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician- BHU/PD/Nights - Coast Plaza Hospital

Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician 

Job Summary: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) will be responsible for following guidelines and implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all medical aspects of the company’s programs in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization. Reports directly to BHU Nurse Manager and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, he/she will work within the guidelines, policies and mission of the company and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Experience:

• A minimum of one (1) year experience as an LVN or LPT caring for mental health patients in an acute inpatient setting, preferred.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
• A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

Education:

• N/A

Licensure/Certifications:

• Current LVN or LPT license in good standing with California Board of Nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or equivalent, required (AB508 and SB1299)
