Life Claims Processor - Country Financial - Corporate

About the Job
COUNTRY Financial is looking for a Life Claims Processor to join our life health claim team. You'll be answering phone calls to assist agents and beneficiaries with starting the life claim process and helping COUNTRY Life deliver on claim promises.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our corporate offices in Bloomington, IL.
How does a Life Claims Processor make an impact?
- Initiates and receives telephone calls and e-mails from beneficiaries, financial representatives, attorneys, funeral homes, etc., concerning Life Claims.
- Utilizes multiple systems (including but not limited to Expert system, ILA, PALLM, AWD) to acquire information given to customers and team members including: researching policies, verifying insured information and additional policies in-force, suspending policies, completing death claim notification worksheets, assigning death claim numbers and notifying other departments.
- Processes incoming mail for new and pending claims.
- Completes daily work including moving work in the AWD system to the appropriate team, updating AWD of closed claims, working other AWD reports.
- Follows up letters for Surrender Receipts and closing claims when received.
- Sends correspondence of life insurance search requests.
Do you have what we’re looking for?
- Provides customer service by answering phones and providing information to the Client/Beneficiary, Financial Representative or Third Party as appropriate regarding initiating a claim, questions of coverage, claim status and other information.
- Processes incoming mail for new and pending claims.
- Utilizes multiple systems (including but not limited to Expert system, ILA, PALLM, AWD) to acquire information given to customers and team members including researching policies, verifying insured information and additional policies in-force, suspending policies, completing death claim notification worksheets, assigning death claim numbers and notifying other departments.
- Completes daily work including moving work in the AWD system to the appropriate team, updating AWD of closed claims, working other AWD reports.
- Communication skills to communicate with internal and external parties regarding claim needs.
- This is a senior level support role, which typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.
