Prestige Estates is looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant who loves to love and create moments of joy for our residents living with Alzheimer’s and dementia!
The Life Enrichment Assistant’s position is responsible for assisting Activities Director in planning, organizing, developing and directing a comprehensive activity program that meets the social, physical, and emotional needs of our Prestige Estates residents. The Activity Assistant is responsible for assisting in “orienting” new residents to the community; planning and supervising volunteer services within the community; and coordinating resident family events.
Position requires someone who always has a plan B, takes initiative, self-starter, fun outgoing personality who loves to make each day bright and bring smiles, love and laughter to our residents daily! Must be professional, a good communicator and not afraid to think outside the box.
LIFE ENRICHMENT ASSISTANT
JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for performing the weekly activity calendar requirements set by the Life Enrichment Coordinator. Achieves and maintains the highest quality of life for each resident, with understanding of all psychosocial, medical, and activity needs/preferences.
- Organize, implement, evaluate and direct the overall activities for Prestige Estates Memory Care program.
- Carries out the large, small, and one-to-one events in accordance to the facility’s activity schedule. For the purpose of providing any and all of the following: a friendly visitor; sensory stimulation; reality orientation and cognitive stimulation.
- Prepares and coordinates with the Life Enrichment Coordinator the month’s needs for food, equipment, supplies, and labor, and forecasts the needs of the programs.
- Participates in the monthly planning meetings to collaborate on the creation of the monthly activity calendar and communication to the residents’ upcoming scheduled activities and events.
- Assists the Life Enrichment Coordinator to ensure projects are within budget, with quality and on schedule within the activity department.
- Evaluates programming quality and participation on an ongoing basis through surveys and direct interaction with residents and families.
- Solicits advice from other departments concerning the operation of the Life Enrichment Program to identify problem areas and/or improve services.
- Arranges transportation and occasionally drives the Company vehicle to transport residents to and from events.
- Assist residents to activities and events as needed, including assisting residents in out of the vehicle, operating ramps, lifts and securement device and using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is required.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet.
- Assisted Living Facility experience required. At least 2 years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed Assisted Living/Memory Care working with the elderly.
- Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test.
- Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Employment Misconduct Registry and Criminal History Search.
