High School Graduate or GED
Have a Level 3 Certification with the State of Texas or obtain within 30 days of hire
EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS.
One-year related security experience within the State of Texas
Own a firearm with a Level III Holster
Valid Texas Driver’s License, must be insurable, good driving record
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES.
Skill in building security and lock procedures
Skill in providing protection services
Ability to ensure the security, safety, and wellbeing of all personnel, staff, clients, and premises
Ability to detect, and report suspicious activity, criminal behavior, and security breaches
Ability to assist local law enforcement agencies with ongoing investigations and inquiries
Ability to gather, assemble, analyze, evaluate, and use facts and evidence
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare detailed and accurate reports using the internal incident report system
Ability to operate office equipment including a computer, printer, and scanner
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and make logical decisions
Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
Ability to operate equipment efficiently, such as a two-way radio or body-worn camera
Ability to successfully complete First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens training
Ability to successfully complete Crisis Intervention training
Ability to successfully complete Trauma-Informed Care training
Basic knowledge of Hazardous Materials
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

The Life Safety Officer is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned. Employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, exposed to hazards and infectious diseases.
