Life Sciences Health Industry Associate - Round Hill Search

Round Hill Search is seeking a mid-level associate to join an AmLaw 100 firm's innovative and interdisciplinary team focusing on healthcare regulatory counseling, with a focus on digital health and medical technology companies. This role is ideal for a legal professional passionate about the intersection of health, technology, and law, with expertise in advising companies operating in the digital health and med-tech sectors. Candidates must have experience with healthcare regulatory matters, Medicare, Medicaid, enrollment, reimbursement, billing and compliance, and anti-kickback issues.

Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Counseling: Advise clients in the digital health and medical technology space on healthcare regulations, including FDA compliance, telemedicine, HIPAA, and healthcare privacy laws.
• FDA Regulations: Provide guidance on FDA regulations affecting medical devices, software as a medical device (SaMD), and mobile health applications, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
• Digital Health Innovations: Counsel clients on legal issues surrounding telemedicine, wearable health devices, AI in healthcare, mobile health applications, and health information technology.
• Health Data Privacy & Security: Advise on HIPAA, HITECH, and state privacy laws related to health information. Assist clients in developing data privacy and cybersecurity strategies to meet regulatory requirements.
• Transactional Support: Provide legal support in licensing, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, and collaborations related to medical technology products and services.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Work with clients to develop and implement healthcare compliance programs. Conduct risk assessments and advise on compliance best practices in health technology.
• Healthcare Policy & Trends: Stay abreast of evolving digital health trends and regulatory changes, advising clients on the impact of new laws and policies on their business models.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product development teams, compliance officers, and other internal stakeholders to align legal strategies with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in Washington, DC
• Three to five plus years of legal experience in healthcare regulatory counseling focusing on digital health, medical devices, or biotechnology.
• Strong understanding of FDA regulations, HIPAA, and other healthcare laws applicable to digital health companies.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in healthcare, including AI, blockchain, and telehealth solutions.
• Must have experience with healthcare regulatory matters, Medicare, Medicaid, enrollment, reimbursement, billing and compliance, anti-kickback issues, and government investigation experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Salary:

$235,000 - $365,000,commensurate with your experience and qualifications
