Position Description:

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

• Maintain work area clean and free of clutter.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation per health code.
• Possess strong knife handling skills and food knowledge.
• Assist in preparing daily menu items and specials with little guidance needed.
• Effectively communicate with team regarding menu items, catering requests, deliveries and other issues in the kitchen.
• Delegate tasks to prep cooks and stewards as needed.
• Check available food supply, including cuts of meat, sauces, par-cooked items, spices, vegetables and other condiments to ensure adequate daily supply.
• Ensure that the team is adhering to recipes, presentation and high standards.
• Possess good communication skills and basic knowledge of banquet set-up.
• Ensure breakdown of station, label and store food in accordance with procedures at end of shift.
• Assists in the daily delivery and pick-up of catering orders in various locations.
• Working knowledge of sanitation, cleanliness and safe food handling practices.
• Competent at multi-tasking in a fast paced environment and working under strict deadlines.
