Litigation Associate
Requires
- Prepare discovery and respond to requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, orders, etc.).
- Prepare and review motions, briefs, pleadings and discovery
- Attend and manage hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
- Effectively communicate with clients and the managing attorney(s) to understand the clients concerns and provide sound legal advice.
- Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents
- Deliver strong comprehensive and persuasive writing utilizing clear written and critical thinking skills
- Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies, courts, and counsel.
- Organize and manage documents from multiple sources
- Ability to handle complex problems utilizing initiative, creativity, and sound professional judgment.
- Work both independently and as a contributing team member.
- Report to partners and clients regarding case status
Requires
- Must be Licensed to practice in the State of New York
- 1-3 years of relevant commercial and real estate litigation practice experience to be a part of a team of highly skilled litigation attorneys.
- must possess excellent, research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
- knowledge of the NY Procedural rules
- Westlaw or Lexis Nexis experience
- Hearing/trial experience a plus
